ARCKBoston is a small nonprofit, dedicated to bringing visual art classes into the Boston Public School System.
We have been working with the 5th grade students at the Tobin school since September of this year and we need to raise funds to continue our classes. We are the only art instruction that these students have had this year!
ARCK classes are unique because we work closely with our partner classroom teachers and create lessons that connect with the academic content of their classes and align with Core Curriculum State Standards.
Perhaps more importantly, we use visual art classes and projects to engage our students in dialogue and discussions about culture, diversity, identity, social justice and civic engagement. At ARCK, we use visual art to empower our students.
The 5th graders at the Tobin have been learning about culture and visual art while making connections to their academic content and exploring how to share their thoughts and ideas with a greater audience.
Without additional funding, we will have to stop our classes and leave the Tobin.
The school has used all of the resources it has and can't offer any additional funds to support this program through the academic year.
Please help us keep art alive at the Tobin!
