Hi everyone and thank you for visiting. Jamie has been an advocate in the least funded pandemic of our time. Just today, the Jackson Citizen Patriot posted that Teenage Mothers in Jackson, MI has surpassed Detroit for second births..........................
In Jamie’s own words; my career goal is to help establish more services for at-risk youth. Focusing on teen pregnancy prevention, healthy relationships, violence & abuse awareness, and housing for parenting homeless teens. There are very few services for this population; yet, our county alone has one of the highest teen pregnancy rates in Michigan. Our county also has a very high homeless population, as well as high child abuse and neglect rate. I believe that by helping this population would bring a positive change within our community, and reduce negative statistics.
As with life, Jamie has hit a road block and is now reaching out for help to obtain her goal of finishing her Bachelor of Social Work through Spring Arbor University. Jamie is set to graduate in October of this year but must pay out of pocket $3100 in order to do so. Spring Arbor University has offered Jamie a payment plan of $572 a month…. Please help by giving all you can either in monetary value, advocating for Jamie or volunteering you time at the fundraiser which will be held July 13th.
