Visit Autistic Child in New Group Home

My daughter Lauren is very special to us. She is 19 years old and has Autism. Until just recently she was able to be cared for at home. But suddenly the Autism took a strange turn and she became violent and abusive to herself and others around her. In Oct. of 2013 she was hospitalized on and off for 5 months. When it became apparent that we could no longer care for her at home, she was moved to a local Crisis Home on Long Island. She is now awaiting her tranfer to a Residential Facility in Oneonta NY. Although it breaks my heart, it is a necessity and I am trying to make the best out of it. The reason why we need some financial help is that we would like to be able to see her once a month. But for us, the cost would be close to $300 for the visit. The drive is very long and I can not make it in one day due to my Fibromyalgia. I can't sit that long in a car in one day. The gas and tolls alone cost over $100. Then there is the hotel, food and we'd have to board our dogs overnight for the visit. We also need some money to buy her some things that she will need in her new home. We are very far behind on our bills because my husband had 2 injuries at work on the same day and was out of work for 6 months straight with 2 torn rotator cuff surgeries. We are 2 and 3 months behind on bills and by the time we catch up, 6 months will go by. I cant wait that long to see my baby. If you can find it in your heart to help we would be so grateful. No donation is too small and gets us 1 step closer to being able to see her when she gets taken to the her new home next month.
