Funds for Floristry College

Donation protected
Good day, My name is Alexandra Arruda and I would like to ask for financial assistance to further my education for Floristry Level 3. I would love to continue my education in this industry but I do not have the funds for the next year. I have recently graduated with all Distinctions (A's).

Floristry is something I have always had a passion for and I want to continue with it. It has become my goal and passion in life to become what I have always wanted to be and that is a qualified florist in Bermuda. I want to be able to bring more talent into the small pool of Bermudian florists.

I want to be able to open my own shop and offer more jobs to locals and foreign workers and give work experience to a younger generation who are interested in this line of work.

Floristry is something that I’ve been passionate about since I was a child. I started out just playing with flowers  and making small vase bouquets from wild flowers for my primary school teachers. One of those teachers saw something in me that compelled her to take me to a flower shop on her own accord. She had me make an arrangement for her at the flower shop in the market place when I was just 10 years old and the florist even saw I had a talent for it. Ever since then, I have been paying more attention to flowers and nature in general.

The reason I'm writing this is to ask for help accumulating funds for level 3. After getting information from the Manchester College, the cost for that class has tripled(£7129) due to cuts in government funding for that course.

The cost of living out there would be another reason I would appreciate help with my schooling fees. For housing in the UK, it can run between £200-£400 ($340-$700) a month. Water/Utilities is between £100-£300 ($170-$510). Gas is £100-£300 ($170-$510). Groceries range between (£30-£60) - ($50-$100). Council Tax will be between £400 - £700 ($700 - $1190). Living in the UK for one month is about £795 - £1775 ($1350-$3010). For my stay in the UK for about a year it will cost me in total about £9540-£21,300 ($16,190 - $36,141)

This is the reason I want to start in September 2016. I will start a new job and save as much as possible to pay for my living costs. It is hard to find a job in the UK so I have no other option but to come home and strive to make my future better by working hard towards my goals. I am very determined about being a florist and am happy to say that I am actually doing something I love. So any amount towards my funds I will be forever greatful even if its below or above my goal amount.

All the photos you see were created by me either during college or my six years experience before i started college.
