Hello everyone,
My name is Jack and I'm from Modesto, CA. I'm starting this fundraiser for a critically injured stray cat in need of medical care.
On the morning of Apr. 24 I witnessed an adolescent gray cat get rolled under a passing car. He could still walk, but was severely hobbled. I immediately tried to help the poor little stray, but he didn't want anything to do with me and escaped as best he could.
The next morning he turned up in an alley behind my backyard. He had suffered a compound fracture of his right rear leg and was very obviously in pain.
Over the next 6 days, I tried countless times to gently capture the poor stray, but he just wouldn't trust me enough. In the meantime, I was giving him all the food and water he wanted and tried to familiarize myself to him.
The morning of Apr. 30th - Success!
I was able to gently capture him and take him to my most trusted veterinarian - Escalon Small Animal Clinic in Escalon, CA. He was exhausted and desperate for help.
Dr. Andrew Hagan assured us that the injury is completely survivable. The surgical procedure includes: putting a screw into the cat's leg to stabilize it enough to heal and another procedure to stabilize the pelvic joint, followed up with a splint. With this surgery he will be expected to make a full recovery!
The full amount for the surgery is $1,598. Please see the photos I've uploaded of the invoice that reflects this.
If you love animals, please help us save the ones that would otherwise die in pain on the street or be euthanized.
I'm going to see him through his 8-12 week recovery time and after he will be up for adoption! I will keep him until he can go to a family that will give him a long life.
