Mascota, Jalisco Ambulance Fund

Donation protected
Mascota is a municipality located in Jalisco, Mexico. The city and surrounding small towns have a population of 15,000 people. Currently, there is only one ambulance for the entire municipality. This single ambulance cannot serve the distant small towns and ranches.

The City of Chicago has donated an ambulance that will be able to reach these smaller communities within the Municipality of Mascota. However, there is still much to be done.

The ambulance will be driven from Chicago to Mascota by two volunteers, one a retired fireman and the second a retired paramedic. In order for the ambulance to safely make the trip, we require the following:

$2,000: gasoline for the four day trip to Mascota
$1,800: repair and paint the ambulance
$800: return flight tickets for volunteer drivers
$700: hotel and food expenses for volunteer drivers
$600: auto insurance to cover transportation in the U.S. and Mexico
$300: permit for importation of the vehicle into Mexico
