Hello! I'm Gabrielle Agachiko
Two years ago, you were kind enough to crowd fund my jazz ensemble's debut album "Yes", which was met with  very positive critical reviews.
Since then we've been playing out, exposing audiences to the beauty of new approaches to old school Jazz with vocals and horns.

I have had the extreme pleasure of working with fabulous musicians in this band.  Ken Field of the Revolutionary Snake Ensemble who takes us higher with his flute; Sam Davis, guitarist extraodinaire; Phil Neighbors, a drummer and vibraphonist with an incredible sense of nuance; Scott Getchell, whose trumpet can make you cry; Blake Newman, a wonderfully sensitive acoustic bassist; and lastly, Russ Gershon of the Either/Orchestra, whose tenor sax is brilliant, and who has also leant his Grammy nominated arranging chops to make my compositions shine.

Due to a variety of factors; the necessity of having a day job to support my jazz habit, the difficulties of being a black woman in an increasingly repressive society, and the need to move on with my life, I will be moving to France shortly.

The good news is that France loves jazz and I should be able to support myself as a jazz musician instead of as a caterer.

My beloved band mates were kind enough to donate the proceeds of our last two shows to recording time, and we will begin recording next week.

The new record will be a lasting calling card for me in my new life as a jazz singer in France and a lasting document of our time in Boston.

While our last two shows raised enough money for recording, I still need to pay for mastering, pressing and distribution, so once again we're reaching out to friends and fans who so generously funded our first recording.

The critics say:
The Boston Globe  ~ “What’s exciting about this project is not just Agachiko’s vocal performances (powered by a clear, powerful instrument, knife-sharp diction, and a touch of warm vibrato), but the fully realized conception.” ~ Jon Garelick

The Examiner  ~ “Agachiko not only knows how to embrace the melody as a vocalist, actress, and songwriter, she does it without sacrificing the musicians.
“A spoonful of sugar, baby.”

All About Jazz ~ “Gabrielle Agachiko's voice has an uncommon combination of confidence and intimacy that allows her songs to sound lyrical and conversational at once. Rich and resonant, this voice imbues the standard "Angel Eyes" with a mahogany darkness, stained deeper with life and experience.” ~ C. Michael Bailey

Jazz Weekly  ~ “Vocalist Gabrielle Agachiko has a luminous and soft water of a voice with a gentle vibrato that lures you into this impressive collection of originals and standards.... This is a lady I wanna see do this stuff in concert!” ~ George W. Harris
