A Fighting Chance for Rosse Santivanez

Donation protected
What would you do if you had limited means, your mother was very ill in another country, and you had to leave in order to provide for yourself and her?

A dear friend/co-worker of mine and her family has had to answer all of those questions, yet none of the answers are what they want.

A story that seems all too unreal, yet couldn't be more real and truthful...
A planned vacation to Bolivia to meet up with her mother turned into a heartwrenching time for Anita and her family. Her mother, Rosse Marie Camacho Santivanez, suffered from a stroke that was untreated for two days causing tremendous damage.

Being too weak and under 24 hour care, Rosse is unable to leave Bolivia. Anita and her sister stayed for as long as they could until having to return home to resume work to not only provide for themselves, but now for their mother too.

Currently, their mother is "out of danger" (so to speak) but she's not well. Meaning there's a lot of damage due to the stroke not being treated immediately and to make matters worse, the doctors are not very optimistic. She will most likely be on 24 hour care for the rest of her life and may never be able to speak or walk again. Rosse's right side is paralyzed and she must be fed through a tube.

Anita and her sister are doing what they can so that she is as comfortable as possible, but it's all so very expensive, and they have limited means...

Anita has never asked me for a single thing, in fact she is unaware that I am even doing this. For Anita, just knowing that I am there for her emotionally, physically, and mentally has been plenty.
So I asked myself, what can I do for her? I informed her that once (if) she can get her mother to America, Hospice is a wonderful resource... yet, that simple bit of knowledge was still not enough. With the help of my mother and her helpful ideas, I decided to create this page in honor of the Delgado/Santivanez Family.

A fundraising event is still in the works. I will be sure to provide further updates with that information!!
