Olivia and Harry Brown helping Vets

Donation protected
Harry Brown, a former Marine Vet who is now homeless was diagnosed with Stage 3 Pancreatic cancer in April. The prognosis was 12 to 24 months without additional treatment which isn't available due to liver damage from Hepatitis C and his alcohol abuse.

With this terminal prognosis, homeless Marine Vet Harry Brown and his PTSD service dog Olivia are on a time sensitive mission to travel across the country to make amends and repair relationships.  Harry has been sober for 7 years, but during the twenty-five years prior to his sobriety, Harry chose alcohol over others, leaving behind a trail of shattered relationships.  Nearing the end of his life, Harry wants to leave with no regrets, with nothing left unsaid, filled with a sense of peace, serenity and completeness.  Harry has learned in AA that recovery from alcoholism involves far more than sobriety. Recovery from alcoholism involves changing every part of a person’s life. Making amends is a major part of this recovery.

We have started this GoFund campaign to help Harry continue his journey across country with some small comforts so thatHarry and Olivia can finish their life-changing, last journey together.

In his travels, Harry will be sharing his knowledge with other veterans about the acquiring and training of service animals. Most training programs are breed specific, expensive, and unaffordable. Harry will encourage the use of rescue dogs, like Olivia, and guide veterans about self-training and registration. Doing so will help save a shelter dog’s life, while helping a veteran regain theirs.

Please contribute to Harry and Olivia’s final journey!

If Harry’s health deteriorates to the point that he is unable to complete his journey, the remaining funds go to a no kill shelter or to an animal sanctuary.

Harry will keep you updated on his journey, journaling his amends and interactions with other Veterans on this Facebook page
