David is without a doubt, one of the biggest Harry Potter fans in the world.
Since he's approaching his eleventh birthday (and in the Harry Potter universe, age eleven is when you get your Hogwarts Letter, inviting you to attend the school), we would dearly love to put a stuffed owl in the mailbox, along with a Hogwarts letter and tickets to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and Universal Orlando.
We're not talking about a full week or VIP passes or anything - just a long weekend at a budget hotel and maybe a wand from Ollivander's for him to take home (and a souvenir for his equally awesome sister, who will also be going), along with the memories of it all.
And here's some incentive - donate any amount, and get a free copy of the e-book "David And Me Under The Sea: Essays From A Decade With Autism ." the book is formatted for Kindle, Nook, PC and all e-reader devices.
If we don't reach our goal, We'd like to buy David an iPad, since there are so many terrific apps out there for kids with autism and his therapist has recommended it.
Any money raised over goal (or over the cost of an iPad, if we don't reach our goal) will be donated to The Kennedy Krieger Institute as part of David's annual ROAR (Ride On For Autism Research) campaign .
Thanks so much for any assistance you can give us!!
