a bed for Jake

Jake is a bubbly, happy 5 year old who lives with his mum, dad and brother in Sheffield. Jake has ASD (autistic spectrum disorder), severe learning difficulties a sensory processing disorder and probable ADHD. As well as this he is currently non verbal and non communicatory, has a sleep disorder and is doublyincontinent. Jake however continues to bring constant joy to this around him in his own special way.                     Since gaining a place at a special  school this year, Jake is learning new things constantly,proving he is more than every diagnosis and label over him . 
Jake LOVES to bounce, and he does it pretty much all the time which places extreme stress on the families furniture as he has little awareness of his own strength or boundaries on what he can jump on. As a result of this Jake is still in a cot at night that has been fixed numerous times to prevent it breaking when he wakes up and bounces at night (often from about 3am). 
Toughfurniture.com custom make furniture for those with special needs particularly those with autism needing reinforced furniture. The company would be able to design a bed for Jake that would be safe for him and allow him to gain independence by moving from a co. The specially designed bed and mattress will cost in total £500 to purchase but will bring such a dramatic change to the families lives who currently spend most of the night on an arm chair by his bed to ensure he does not injure himself 
To start Jakes campaign off, the amazing Sarah has offered to bake personalised cakes to order. Sarah specialises in hand designing cakes, cupcakes and cakepops suitable for all occasions.
