My husband Mark has been a type 1 diabetic during our 24 years of marriage. This has meant a struggle for our family to pay for a chronic health condition and a personal struggle for Mark to continue working with serious complications from his diabetes. Despite neuropathic pain and extensive vision loss, he kept working at the same company for 13 years. Last June, that company laid him off of work. Since the layoff, Mark has experienced a deep decline in his health. Both Mark & I are worried that he’s no longer able to work a full time job while taking care of his worsening health. Rebecca works a full time job but her take home pay is not enough to pay rent and raise a family. Being divorced could possibly help Mark qualify for better healthcare through Obamacare while giving them more take home money in her paycheck. Extra take home pay, enough to cover a month's rent.
Our ultimate goal is to raise enough to buy a home. If we were able to have our living arrangements settled, we would have a forever home that my husband could lean on to learn how to deal with his imminent total vision loss.
