Miss Global 2014 as a College Student

Thank you for taking the time to visit my page. Please allow me a moment to share with you the reason why I am on gofundme.com.
I have always aspired to become a role model and motivate young women to live their dreams. I believe that it is important to love what you do so that you can improve your own life and those of the people around you.
That being said, I began modeling about a year ago at the encouragement of my loved ones. A few months ago I was contacted by a recruiter for the Miss Global 2014 Pageant (Miss Global Homepage). I decided to apply because of that old saying that "you lose 100% of the chances you don't take." I knew that my little sister and brother, among others, would be disappointed in me for not fighting for amazing opportunities.
A week ago, I received an e-mail stating that I have been accepted as a U.S. contestant for Miss Global 2014! I was shocked. Soon after reading the e-mail I stopped myself, remembering that there was no way I could afford the costs associated with the pageant. I am currently a college student, living on my own and I pay for all of my living expenses; leaving me with little extra money.
I realized that I would not be able to do the pageant, but I was still excited to have an interesting story to share. However, when I began to share it, all of my friends and family strongly encouraged me to seek funding. After hearing so much support, I understood that I would be wasting a wonderful opportunity if I gave up.
I am always reaching for bigger and more challenging goals. I hope that I can walk into Miss Global 2014 and show my deep appreciation for every person who guided me there.
I also hope to become a role model for girls and women by showing them the importance of education, wellness and dedication! I love to motivate people to build and nourish their strengths, and earnestly gaze into the wonderful future that they can create.
The funding that I am seeking will go towards the registration and participation fees, two gowns, a swimsuit, plane tickets, and other materials/supplies that I will need to prepare for the pageant.
