Hey there existing and new supporters,
Due to the overwhelming support in the last few days, we have decided to raise the goal to £800. We by no means expect this goal to be reached, but we have now had confirmation that the car has been written off, therefore requiring a new car all together. We think the raised goal will help Rusty and Sylvia be able to put the money towards a better car in better condition.
We'd like to say thanks again to everyone who has supported the fundraiser. Without the help from you, Rusty and Sylvia would be stuck without a car.

An elderly couple who live in our tower block had their car vandalised this weekend.
The couple (one of which requires a wheelchair) park in the disabled spot of the small car-park provided for residents. This spot is directly under the windows of 20 floors of flats.
The damage to the car as you'll see from the picture is on the corner of the driver side roof which has also cracked the windscreen and smashed the driver side window. This leads us to think something may have been thrown out of the window and then the perpetrator has come downstairs and removed the object as to hide the fact they caused the damage.
We feel that because there is structural damage to the roof of the car the couple may not be able to get it repaired and may need a new car all together and so £500 would go a long way in helping them either get repairs or to put towards a new car that can also fit their wheelchair in it.
For now we have covered their window with bags to protect it from rain as it hasn't been touched since the incident.
The police and our housing association have been informed and if we reach our target we will work with our housing association to get the money to them. We have already asked for our details to be passed on to them as we will make our own contributions privately.
As you can imagine, the couple will now find it very difficult to do basic tasks such as shopping or visiting family, so please share this page so that the goal can be reached as soon as possible to be put towards repair/replacement of the car.
