Zoë's CRPS Calmare Treatment

Donation protected
Hello Internet!
My name is Zoë Gulliksen. If you've come across this link, chances are that you might know who I am: @Bookishbelle  on Twitter, random blogger at Bookishbelle.com , and former comic book tv host.  For a brief history on me, read here

In June of 2013, on a rainy Tuesday in New York City, I fell on an escalator and injured my wrist. After months of multiple doctors not being able to figure out why I was in so much pain I was diagnoised with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), a severely painful nerve disorder that has spread to my whole body. You can learn more about CRPS here:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Complex_regional_pain_syndrome

Since then I have seen countless doctors and have recieved numerous treatments including nerve blocks, x-rays, MRIs, and CAT scans. I have been on every pain medication under the sun, including narcotics and opiates which all had bad side effects.

My hobbies of running, surfing, and dreams of becoming a roller derby girl has since diminished.  My quality of life is 100% opposite of the active, high spirited girl I was 2 years ago. If you follow me on Twitter, it's rare for me to go even a few days without mentioning being in pain. To read more details, here is a link from my blog talking about living with this disorder: Thank God For a Fucked Up Year

After much research and almost giving up on ever feeling better, I discovered Calmare Thearpy by Dr. Michael Cooney in Rutherford, NJ . People have traveled as far as from South Africa and Australia to be treated by him to help their CRPS. On July 29th I saw Dr. Cooney and when he hooked me up to the Calmare machine my pain level immediatley went from an 8 to ZERO. However, one treatment is not enough to fully help me.

In order to complete the full 10 treatment to bring my pain  level down to a 0 every day of my life, I have to pay out of pocket as no insurances cover Calmare Therapy. Hence this GoFundMe campaign.

The $3,000 would cover part of the costs of the treament of $4,500, which is why I'm asking for help. Those that know me are aware that I'm a terribly prideful person and hate asking for help. But in the years since I have been hurt, this is the first treatment that has ever helped me and I'm willing to do anything to make it happen. With this money funded, I could have the treatment done as soon as August 10th, 2015!!

So any contribution would be GREATLY appreciated and anyone that does donate  (no matter what amount) will recieve a personal thank you card if you email me your mailing address.

As always, much love-
