On May 26, Central Louisiana native Sara Simmonds, along with a group of friends and colleagues, took a leap of faith - skydiving for charity.
Simmonds raised money for Louisiana's Youth Challenge Program, an alternative education program designed to give teens an opportunity to change their future.
Donations from the Rotary Club of Alexandria totaled around $2,000. The money will help fund scholarships for YCP cadets to pursue higher education opportunities.
Simmonds said the amount raised is "a drop in the bucket" to what the Youth Challenge Program needs for its cadets.
To assist Sara in her efforts, we need your help! Our goal is to raise an additional $2,000 from the community and double the amount given towards YCP scholarship opportunities.

This campaign will remain open until Monday, June 12. Proceeds made will help fund scholarships for YCP cadets upon their graduation.
