Young Authors Institute

I am starting a creative writing workshop called the Young Authors Institute. It will help kids ages 15-16 in Tulsa learn that writing can be fun and is more than just a boring classroom assignment. Creative writing also has many benefits for kids now and throughout their entire lives, like teaching them to think outside the box, developing self confidence, self esteem and empathy, and helping them pracitce their writing, grammar and spelling. The kids will write a short story and in the end will see it published in a book that will be presented during a book signing with family and friends!

This kind of undertaking does require a lot of materials, such as writing supplies, food for the kids during the workshops, costs to print the books and funds to over the book signing. Would you please help me to be able to offer this great opportunity to the children of Tulsa? Any amount you give takes care of anything from buying a pad of paper to a sandwich. While your donation is not tax deductible at this time (I'm not a nonprofit organization yet, but am working toward it), it will certainly be acknowledged and appreciated.
