********************

The Women’s March on January 21st is a national movement for women, men, and children who stand for human rights, civil liberties, diversity, and compassion for our shared humanity.

We march to support and inspire each other and the nation to celebrate, honor and protect our diversity, freedom and human rights. We gather in community to find healing and strength through tolerance, civility, and compassion. This is a non-partisan march. We welcome all people to join us as we unite locally and nationally, on January 21, 2017, to stand together in justice, respect and inclusion for all. This is only the beginning…

We will unite locally with the main march in DC and sister marches in every state and major metropolitan area across our great country to stand together for justice, tolerance and inclusion for all.

In California there are groups organizing for the DC March and several sister marches being held on the same day throughout the state. This document will be updated as details evolve over time.

FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions (apply to all marches):

Do I need a ticket to attend?
No! All the marches should be free and public. If someone asks you to buy a ticket or register, don’t do it!

What is the status with permits?
All marches are working on permits and individual sites will be updated on status. In general, permits are not needed to march, but are needed for rallies.

How can I get involved or volunteer?
Please look at the local pages for volunteer information. All sites should have information about how to volunteer. When in doubt, send a message to one of the group organizers and they can help you.

What about safety and security?
All marches in CA and the National March are taking health and safety very seriously. There will be measures in place for this.

Is it just for women only?
NO! The march is open to all men, women, and children who stand for human rights, civil liberties, tolerance of diversity, and compassion for our shared humanity.

Is this a protest, march, or rally?
This is not a protest. The Women's March is a celebration of human rights. In Contra Costa, there will be a march and rally. Music and entertainment starts at 10:00AM, Rally 11AM, March at noon.
