Please join us in our campaign to support Miss Jordyn Weaver and Miss Jessica Weaver, in the 2015 Annual Debutante Cotillion. As debutantes, they have a wonderful opportunity to compete for the title of Miss Debutante and receive scholarship dollars. The amount of each scholarship awarded at the cotillion is directly related to the amount of funds they raise throughout the debutante season.
In order for this effort to be a success, we are asking for the financial support of family, friends, businesses and the community at-large to help Jordyn and Jessica raise at least $7,000 ($3,500 each).
Debutante’s are high-school seniors who compete for the title of Miss Debutante by raising funds for the college scholarship program and for non-profits in the Charlotte area. The Debutante activities foster cultural awareness, civic engagement and personal development for each participant. The Debutante season culminates with an introduction of these young ladies to adult society by presenting them in a formal Cotillion Ball.
The 51st Annual Debutante Cotillion, hosted by Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Charlotte Alumnae Chapter, will be held on April 4, 2015. The Debutante Cotillion is the chapter’s most cherished and longest running community service event. This year’s theme is, “A Rhapsody in Elegance & Grace.”
Deltas of Charlotte Foundation, is the 501(c)3 partner of the Charlotte Alumni Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Through this partnership, the Charlotte Alumnae Chapter has contributed $585,542 in scholarships, since 1992 and $412,898 in charitable contributions, since 1980, to local non-profits. Some of the efforts that the sorority has supported include: Habitat for Humanity, A Child’s Place, Loaves and Fishes, Salvation Army, Kids Voting, Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, and the Battered Women’s Shelter.
