Jim's Go Fund Me

Donation protected
Hi,
My family is reaching out to you today by starting this fundraiser to help my brother, Jim Smith, and his wife , Elaine Stevens.

It has been a difficult year for them as my brother has struggled with the effects of liver disease which has gradually impacted all areas of their lives. Two weeks ago Jim was hospitalized for complications and it was determined that his liver is no longer functioning and that the process to add him to the transplant list would begin. It was also strongly recommended that they move
to Jackson in order to be closer to UMC in the event that a liver becomes available. Since that time there have been more doctor visits, more tests, new medications , and another brief hospital stay. Jim and Elaine have made the first trip to Jackson with good results and will return this week for more tests. We are hopeful that he will soon be added to the list of people waiting to recieve a liver.

Jim has not been able to work to full capacity since the first hospital visit, though he is trying to do what he can, and more of Elaine's time is being devoted to his care, so there has been a gradual decrease in income while their expenses are increasing. They have both worked all their
lives and have always paid their own way, often employing others and always giving back to the community. And they've done this while caring for aging parents, mentoring, and fostering so many animals, I've lost count.
But now it becomes necessary for them to ask for help for themselves.

This fundraiser's goal will go a long way to supplementing their income, helping with travel, medical, and living expenses, as well as the
added cost of setting up household in Jackson.  We are hoping that, with your help, my brother will get the medical care that he needs and that some of the financial burden and stress can be lifted, allowing them to focus on Jim's care.

Jim is a loving husband, father, son , brother, uncle and a friend to all. I have had heard many stories this week about the lives he has touched and

I cannot remember a time that he hasn't been there, always encouraging and supportive.

We appreciate so much, any amount you might be able to donate as well as any shares of this Go Fund Me status.  Many thanks from his loved ones.
