Hello good people,
On November 9th the world almost lost one of its brightest souls. Thomas Orndorf was in a serious car accident Saturday morning, and is still in critical condition. When the officials arrived they did not think that anyone would be alive inside of the crunched up Honda Civic, but Tommy was in there fighting for his life! He was immediately airlifted to U of M hospital and placed in the Intensive Care Unit with brain trauma, and remains their now unconscious. Doctors and family are doing everything they possibly can to be there for Tom, and get him stabilized. He is STILL there fighting strong along with his Mom and brothers. There are signs of healing, and Tom and his family are taking everything day by day.
He is one of the brightest, happiest people that I know. Tom was working as a graphic designer and had plans of completing school for it in the future. Every single person that has met Tom, remembers his glow and big smile, and his ability to make people laugh and brighten any mood.
Tom's family and friends have not left his side since the accident. His mother Mary Jo Shipman, who is a single mom, is doing everything humanly possible for her youngest son. During such a tragic time, she is of course not working, like any mother would she is sticking by his side. Mary Jo is on medical leave from her job, she is given 12 weeks, but those weeks are unpaid. Things like food, water, health insurance, and bills are all costly things that are essential for the family to stay afloat during this time, and in turn are crucial for Tom to continue to heal. His older brothers Nate and Bobby took immediate flights from Washington and New York to be their with Tom and their mom. This whole family is putting their lives on hold to support Tom...
