West Jessamine Dance Blue

Dance Blue is a year-round fundraising effort cumulating in a no sitting, no sleeping dance marathon. All efforts and proceeds go toward benefiting pediatric cancer research, more specifically the Golden Matrix Fund which benefits children at the DanceBlue Pediatric Oncology Clinic at the University of Kentucky. Since its conception in 2006, we have raised over $5 million which is divided into three categories: 30% patient experience, 30% access to care, 40% research.

A Dance Blue Mini Marathon is just a smaller event on the exact same level and intensity as the “big” Dance Blue at UK. We operate and fundraise just as the college students would but within our respective communities rather than at a college campus or greater Lexington. The purpose of these Mini Marathons is to increase the reach of Dance Blue’s mission outside Lexington and Central Kentucky; there are Mini Marathons in Louisville, Rockcastle County, Casey County, and beyond.
