The Regional Institute for Veterinary Emergencies and Referrals is happy to announce our support for the Chattanooga Police Department's Canine Unit!
Every day, our four-legged officers put their lives on the line just as our human officers do to provide safety and well being to our community. Help us protect them while they protect us!
Our Goal: To provide all EIGHT canine officers with special tailored Kevlar vests.
Cost: Each vest costs approximately $1000 dollars.

Update: Today, we are happy to announce that the PD K9's have been provided with 2 vests currently and 5 more are in the tailor process! We need a tad bit more to finish up on vest #8. Check out News Channel 3 for our gifting of these vests!

We have nearly reached our goal in just 2 1/2 short months!
How did this all start?
Back in October, RIVER started working with the founder of INVEST in K9, a group dedicated to bringing protection to the K9 officers. We hosted our first fundraiser, called PuppyUp, a 5K walk honoring cancer research for humans and animals alike. Proceeds were split between cancer research and providing bullet proof vests to our K9 officers. With this fundraiser alone, we were able to begin our journey and provide 2 vests, along with INVEST in K9.
We continued our endeaver over the last few months, selling Christmas ornaments and starting this fabulous account to spread the word. It has taken hard work and dedication from the ENTIRE staff at RIVER. One of our lovely technicians, Ciara, named our endeaver "Vests for the Valiant" and we felt it was ever so fitting!
We never thought we would make it this far. And NONE of it would have happened without you! We are so grateful, appreciative, and deeply humbled for your support and compassion for our four-legged friends. Warm wishes and puppy love!
