The Nurturing Center is a private, non-profit treatment children and families dealing with issues of abuse and neglect. As a nationally accredited Behavioral Health Center, our mission is to nurture trusting and caring relationships between adults and children. Services include a parent curriculum, parent-child interaction time, individual, group and play therapy, children's therapeutic classrooms (infant, young toddler, toddler, preschool), lunch and transportation to and from services four days per week. The center also runs a Teen Parenting Program on Fridays.
Recent cuts in reimburseable Medicaid funding has had a tremendous impact on the center. This fundraising campaign will help maintain services for children and families as the Board of Directors look to reposition the center to a longterm, sustainable model. Your help is needed and appreciated.
Funding through this campaign will directly offset costs associated with the program.
A gift of $100.... provides a hot meal for 50 clients (parents and children) during center-based services
A gift of $250... provides curriculum supplies for four classrooms for one month
A gift of $500... provides meals and supplies for the Teen Parenting Program for one month
A gift of $1,000... provides fuel for one month for our buses to transport families to and from services each day (throughout Richland and Lexington counties)
