Dawn Westmoreland, a severely disabled Air Force veteran received horrific bullying as a result of being a whistle blower at the MidAtlantic Consolidated Patient Accounting Center (MACPAC), which is a Veteran Affairs agency. he two years of bullying she received, further aggravated her severe disabilities. Dawn has been diagnosed with an 80% disability rating by the Veteran Affairs. She is now determined to empower men and women to end workplace bullying, by providing resources and training for men and women to step into their own personal power.

With your help, Dawn is launching The Foundation of R.E.S.P.E.C.T which is a non-profit organization with a mission to end workplace bullying against men and women, worldwide.

The military doesn't issue a Purple Heart for the type of wounds sustained by retired Master Sergeant Dawn Westmoreland. While serving in the United States Air Force, Dawn was harassed by her superiors to the point where her ability to function was compromised and she was left severely disabled.

Dawn has an exemplary career serving her country having spent 20 years in the Air Force working in human resources as a First Sergeant and an Air Force recruiter. While serving her nation she endured one battle after another against unfair practices and as a whistle blower endured unrelenting retaliation.

Dawn experienced workplace bullying because she was a whistleblower "“ she stood up for what she saw was seriously wrong and prohibited personnel practices.

Dawn experienced workplace bullying because she acted as a whistleblower in the Veteran Affairs, which is an agency designed to take care of military veterans "“ she stood up to practices that were prohibited personnel practices. As a result, Dawn endured unrelenting retaliation from her superiors to the point where her ability to function was severely compromised. While working at the Veteran Affairs, it was obvious to Dawn that there were not enough military veterans being hired by the organization. Dawn explains further;

"You have many military veterans out there that are seeking employment, especially disabled veterans that can't get into the veteran affairs due to the nepotism going on. Due to the nepotism, I saw people move up in grade that did not have education or the qualification; they were just friends of management. This is a prohibited personnel practice."

Dawn reported her management for prohibited personnel practices at which point rather than assessing her case those within the Veteran's Affairs began to make her life living hell. After enduring sabottaged computers, being refused medically resonable accommodation per the American Disability Act, she had enough and took massive action to continue reporting her management for retaliation and bullying.

As a result of the harrassment caused by the hands of the Veteran Affairs, Dawn was diagnosed with back, neck and wrist injuries alongside suffering from major situational depression brought on by the Air  Force asking her to perform unethical practices.

Dawn made a decision to change this situation and hold those accountable to justice, standing for what she believed in and refusing to be beaten down.

Dawn took the matter to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission court and the case was settled prior to the court date. In March 2014 Dawn had won an emotional victory and as she has shared her story she has been contacted by numerous women who are also suffering at the hands of bullies in the workplace "“ both within and outside of the military. The Foundation of R.E.S.P.E.C.T was born.

The Foundation of R.E.S.P.E.C.T

Dawn is now looking to raise $5,000 to launch The Foundation of R.E.S.P.E.C.T which aims to empower women to end workplace bullying.

As Dawn's story is shared across the media she has been inundated with messages from women who are also experience workplace bullying. Dawn has launched The Foundation of R.E.S.P.E.C.T which will grow to develop an online community and resources to empower women to end workplace bullying.

Dawn made a decision to stand up to herself and in doing so she was standing up for everything that she was created to be. Dawn developed the strategy of R.E.S.P.E.C.T, a strategy that not only pulled her back from the edge of depression but empowered her to launch a foundation that would end bullying against men and women in the workplace, globally.

The Foundation of R.E.S.P.E.C.T will teach women the strategies that Dawn has successfully developed:

The awareness of Rights
The importance of Equality
The need for Self-love
The acknowledgement of Personal Power
The purpose of Endurance
The heart of Compassion
The pursuit of Trust

Dawn is seeking to raise $5,000 to support the launch of The Foundation of Respect that will enable her to end bullying against women in the workplace in the following ways:

Development of R.E.S.P.E.C.T resources

Dawn knows first-hand what it feels like to be treated with disrespect in the work place. As Dawn navigated her own painful situation she was faced with daunting questions: Where do I go for financial and legal help? Who can I trust within my workplace? Who do I confide in? And most importantly, how do I gain the confidence to stand up for myself and not allow my bullies to win?

Dawn’s developed a number of steps that empowered her to move from victim to overcomer and so she is now be teaching women how to:

1) How to document the bullying that they are experiencing

2) How to navigate the procedures required to file a bullying case

3) Deal with an unresolved bullying complaint

4) How to document your experience for the court system

5) How to stategize your case with an attorney

6) How to take care of yourself emotionally and physically

Dawn will share this vital information through teleseminars, webinars, online training programs, speaking engagements and events.

Dawn has a passion to create free resources that will be distributed to workplaces around the world, empowering women to harness their confidence, to embrace their self-worth, and to point them in the direction of the support that they need, when they need it.

Through these free resources, Dawn wants to provide women with the opportunity to blossom within the workplace, with the full belief that their workplace can be a safe haven; where men and women are treated with respect and equality.

The Foundation of Respect

This is a much needed online community that Dawn is committing herself to growing, nurturing and developing as she provides free tools and techniques that she developed to empowered herself and confront her bullies. This resulted in a victorious outcome.

The Pledge

I pledge R.E.S.P.E.C.T is a global initiative that is calling upon men and women within the workplace to declare that they are standing alongside Dawn and will actively choose to play a role in seeing an end to workplace bullying by:

a) Standing alongside those who are being bullied.

b) By pointing those bullied in the direction of free resources provided by The Foundation of Respect.

c) Being a voice to those who are experiencing bullying.

It is Dawn's goal to see 10,000 individuals pledge their R.E.S.P.E.C.T within the first 12 months.

Dawn firmly believes that throughout this horrific and intimidating bullying she was given a gift. As Dawn stood up to her bullies, she was empowered by a greater strength and now wants to use her experience to stand side by side with women in the same situation. Would you please consider standing side by side with Dawn and support her with her goal to raise $5,000?

Together we can end bullying against men and women in the workplace.
