The Houston Band Capital Campaign

We are in the midst of a Capital Campaign to secure critical funding for the outstanding band program at Houston High School. Under the leadership of Mr. Jim Smith and Mr. Spencer Nesvick, the band has grown in not only number, but in citizenship and musical skill. As our program expands, so does the need for additional resources. Our students promote, celebrate and address the needs of cultural arts in their community. In the spring of 2013, The Houston Band's Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band were selected in an audition process to participate in the 2014 National Band and Orchestra Festival at the legendary Carnegie Hall in New York. The Houston Band's Capital Campaign is designed to solicit the necessary funds that have not, are not and will not be provided to completely fund our award-winning, prestigious program. Our directors and students take care to stretch the lifespan of existing equipment, but it is now time to invest in new and additional resources. The on-going success of our young musicians and quality of the performances they can give depends on our ability to provide them with quality music, instruments and instruction.
