Team Kitchen – Sharing love and hope with Kim & Lee!
Kim Kitchen is a wonderful wife, amazing mother, dedicated daughter, thoughtful sister, caring aunt, and the best friend anyone could ever hope for.
In October 2014, Kim was diagnosed with Triple-Negative Breast Cancer. She began to undergo chemotherapy. However, after 3 of the strongest chemo meds available and weeks of treatment, it became obvious it was not working and the cancer began to grow rapidly. A radical mastectomy was performed in March, and for a few short weeks, while healing from the surgery, it appeared that Kim was cancer free.
Our joy was short-lived and less than 4 weeks later this ugly thing called cancer attacked in an unprecedented way. Multiple nodules, tumors and a CT scan confirmed our fears; the cancer had spread to Kim’s lungs and liver, and the prognosis from the oncologist is not one any of us wanted to hear.
The medical bills are mounting and there are so many additional costs that they have and will continue to incur. (Kim is currently undergoing radiation and they hope to participate in a suitable clinical trial in the next few weeks). Obviously, the future is uncertain, but Kim and Lee are strong and determined. This is our chance, as friends and family, to show Kim & Lee our love, support, and share hope with them.
