Support Team456 and Austin Musicians!

Help Team Cuatro Sinko Seis make the Texas Water Safari more than just "The World's Toughest Canoe Race". For four of us, this will be our second year to take part in this grueling test of endurance. We'll paddle from Aquarena Springs in San Marcos to Seadrift, Texas, on San Antonio bay. Over 260 miles in less than 100 hours; all by canoe. We are fortunate to be healthy and able to pursue this adventure. This year, however, we're hoping to do more than just paddle. We hope to raise awareness and money to support Health Alliance for Austin Musicians (HAAM), a local group who provide access to affordable health care for Austin's low-income, uninsured working musicians with a focus is on prevention and wellness.

Did you know that while Austin is the "Live Music Capital of the World," many professional working musicians are self-employed and rarely have access to health insurance? Without insurance, they can't afford preventive health care, including primary medical care, basic dental services and mental health counseling. The music industry is an important part of Austin's economy. It provides nearly $2 billion in economic activity and more than $38 million in local tax revenue each year, while providing 18,148 jobs (Source: TXP, Inc., City of Austin, 2012).

So, help us keep it weird, wonderful and "“ above all "“ healthy. Help a local musician by donating to our fund.

All funds raised will be donated to HAAM.

Sincerely,

Johannes, Scott, Don, Michael, Bryan and Steve
