Do you remember as a child how excited you were to get your school supplies? There is just nothing better than a new box of crayons and a brand new notebook. We along with TFAE (Terrebonne Foundation for Academic Excellence), recognizes that there is a lot of “stuff” necessary for an educator to get a classroom ready for students. Many teachers spend money out of their own pocket to provide for the needs of their students. We want to help sponsor a grant to help stock teacher’s classroom. TFAE created a grant for new teachers to apply for.
Any Terrebonne Parish public school art, music, physical education, Pre-K – 12 teacher, librarian, or guidance counselor employed full-time by the Terrebonne Parish Public School System who is directly involved in the instruction of children and who meets one of the following criteria is eligible to apply! The difference $500 makes to stock a classroom with supplies is huge.

“The TFAE New Teacher Grant provided my students with interactive bulletin boards, timers for our rotating stations and group work, flashcards, and much more. With this grant, my class was given possibilities for educational manipulatives, equipment, and resources that we would not have otherwise. These items are used daily and are very much appreciated!”
“The TFAE New Teacher Grant was such a blessing to me! As a “first time” teacher I barely had any classroom supplies. With the TFAE grant funds, I was able to purchase supplies for myself, but even more supplies for my students. I was able to successfully implement classroom projects because I had adequate supplies for my students thanks to the TFAE New Teacher Grant.”
