My name is Natasha, I'm currently serving as a VISTA Leader with AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteers In Service To America). I work out of the University of Texas at Austin with the Division of Diversity and Community Engagement. I graduated from Wheelock College (Boston, Massachusetts) with a Bachelors of Social Work, after college I decided I wanted to devote my next three years to serving with the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS).
My first year of service I served as a VISTA in Boston with the Massachusetts Campus Compact. My second year I was a Team Leader in Vinton Iowa with the National Civilian Community Corps - Federal Emergency Management Agency Corps (NCCC - FEMA Corps). As a member of CNCS you take a pledge of poverty, and live below the poverty line according to the community you're serving in; I am currently living within the Austin City Limits.
I am currently applying to graduate schools to receive my Masters of Arts in Communications with a concentration in New Media and Marketing. I hope to gain new skills to continue my service after graduate school by dedicating time to help service organizations build their social media impact. I also hope to start a non-profit after graduate school that will provide schools and non-profits with emotional intelligence trainings (strengths based leadership, personal branding etc.) As part of my role in NCCC - FEMA Corps I developed and facilitated programs / workshops that encouraged emotional intelligence, conflict resolution, and self - care / self - love.
Currently I am undergoing financial strain due to my dedication to National and Community Service as well as my undergradute debt. I would love to be able to raise some money to support my debt.
