We Only Have One Mission:  Thanking Veterans, Everyday, Everywhere!

Thank you again for your interest in our mission.  My name is Vernon Davis, I am the founder of this mission and I appreciate your interest.  I started this mission out of love and appreciation for our men and women that have served this country in uniform (I too am a veterans 4th generation) in November 2012 and it has grown like a beautiful baby.  I started this mission because I got tired of shaking veterans hands, thanking them for their service and not putting anything in it, so I created what I call a Thank You Packet.  It is very simple, it consist of a Thank You Card, Military Tag (Dog Tag) that reads "Thank You For Your Service and Sacrifice You Are Appreciated" and an envelope.  I call them TYPs for short. 

Since this mission started , we have thanked over 7,700 veterans around the world. Free of charge to them or their families. 

This mission has been primarily funded out of my own resources.  I have a day job and I am a professional stand up comedian, so I take 10% of the money I make and put it into this mission, that accounts for about 80% of the funding, the other 20% has come from people like you that understand our mission and want to help and support it.  Even, if I gave up comedy tomorrow, this mission will continue. 

The reason I am reaching out to you for help with my campaign is simple.  As of May 2015 we have awarded over 7,700 Thank You Packets to veterans around the world. This has been a daunting task, yet I have enjoyed every moment and stuffed every envelope.  

The average cost of a TYP from start to finish is about $1.46 each.  Why so much? Because, I do not have the resources to buy in a large enough bulk to get the prices down.   That is why I am humbly asking for your donation.  If I can raise $10,000 I can then cover the production of the TYPs and postage to send and deliver them to the veterans around the country.  My primary focus is the veterans that are in Veteran Homes, World War II, Korean War and Vietnam Era veterans, yet I do not leave any veteran out.  I focus on the older veterans because we loose 800 - 1000 of the World War II Veterans a week.  I believe we need to thank them all before they leave us with nothing but a memory of them. 100% of your contribution will go into the mission.

Production of Thank You Packets (Thank You Cards, Envelopes, Military Tags, Postage and Fuel cost to deliver these to our Veterans.

If we are not able to reach our goal, all the funds that are donated will be used to further our mission and thank as many veterans as we can, with what we have.    

I have personally witness grown men with tears in their eyes after receiving a Thank You Packet thanking them for their service.  I have met veterans that have shared with me the fact that they have never been thanked for their service.  The hugs and handshakes mean more than life itself sometimes.  It is sad and often hurts a little bit when you see an older veteran take that dog tag out of the envelope and grasp it like it was the last one on earth.  I have had the privilege of witnessing this, almost brought me to tears.  These small tokens of appreciation mean so much to so many, so it is our duty to make it happen.  

Personally, if I could do this all day everyday, I would in a minute.  It has really been more than a blessing.
I understand that money is tight, for everyone, even me.  People often ask me "how do you afford this?  I can't tell you that it has been easy and there have been times when I did not have the funds available to proceed with the mission, but somehow and out of nowhere the funds come and I (we) continue with the mission.
