Mission: One wristband at a time - SURFERS UNITE! Surfing for Life Foundation is dedicated to bringing the surfing community together to raise awareness, inspire, and empower those touched by cancer. Through our blue wristband program, our goal is to spread awareness throughout the surfing community.
About: The Surfing for Life Foundation was inspired during my remission in 2012 following my diagnoses of stage lV colon cancer four years earlier. I was overwhelmed by the outpouring of love, prayer and friendship. Being deeply moved and devoted to finding a way to give back, I established the Surfing for Life Foundation. My goal is to educate and empower others about ways of being pro-active in the fight. 90% of cancers are curable if caught early. My dream for the future is having cancer classified as a "managable disease".
Where Contributions Go: All proceedes (100%) are distributed quarterly to various cancer organizations that share a similiar philosophy. Since it's inception, we have raised over $24,000 and made distributions to 12 non-profit cancer charities.
