Xspanding Minds Inc's mission is to become a youth center within the city of Chicago. We are currently searching for potential sites in Chicago's South Shore community; all the while, we are building relationships with schools, businesses and supporters in order to bring enrichment programs such as; art classes, book clubs, and dance workshops to communities in need.
One of the programs offered through Xspanding Minds, is Tap Dance. Tap dance is taught during after school hours. Tap shoes are the the only requirement of the class. Many schools don't have the funds to purchase this needed item, yet needs the program desperately.
This campaign would allow XMI to purchase ten pair of girls tap dance shoes. They can then be utilized by the students in need the most.
Learning to tap dance, is like learning the English language. You begin with letters, words are then formed, sentences and so forth. Learning to tap is the same, you start with the basics and build. Tap teaches concentration, poise, math, coordination and so many other positive attributes. Tap dance is a language within itself.
