SHS - VEX Robotic World Competition
We need your help...
We are the Sparta High School Robotics Team #5249C. The members of our team are; Steven Viola, Joe Han, Daniel Parker, Tommy Apostilico, and Jeremy Valshtein, mentored by Mr. Mark Meola.
After a series of three successful regional competions and the NJ State VEX Robotics Championship, our robot won the the chance to compete in the 2015 VEX Robotics World Competion being held in Kentucky, April 15 - 18.
Our successes include winning the Excellence Award, an award given to a robot excelling in all areas; the highest honor award, placing 3rd at Regionals; qualifying us for State's, receiving 2nd place in Programming Skills, and earning the Innovation Award; given to a robot with a unique feature not seen in other competing robots. 
After months of dedication and hard work, our team qualified for the 2015 VEX Robotics World Championship High School Division presented by The Northrop Grumman Foundation.
The 2015 competition is located in Louisville, Kentucky. Unfortunately, our school is unable to fund the trip to Louisville. As a result of this lack of school sponsored funding, our mentor, Mr. Mark Meola, who volunteered many hours of his time to supervise our progress, will be unable to travel with the team to the competition without your support. Furthermore, travel to Kentucky will be an extreme financial burden for our team.
We need your help to allow our team to compete at the 2015 VEX Robotics Worlds Competition.

The video below shows our robot operating in autonomous mode (with no driver), controlled by a student created computer program. Using this design, our robot received 2nd place in programming skills at the NJ State Championship.
