Reptile Education and Rescue

The SCHA&R is one of the largest and longest running Reptile Education and Rescue groups in California. We work closely with the Down Syndrome Assn of OC, Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation, Boy Scouts, Boys and Girls Clubs and many other Nature Centers and groups. We are currently looking for funding to assist with Vet Bills for Rescues, the up-keep of our insurance coverage to continue our educational outreach programs, a trailer to effectively take our traveling exhibit to the many locations we exhibit at etc. One of our main goals is to open a "Living Museum" in Orange County. This will not be a retail shop or breeding facility. We want to give the public and numerous groups the opportunity to come to a clean , friendly environment, to come learn about reptiles, their habitat and have the opportunity to interact hands on with them. The facility will have a veterinarian office and staff, an "education room" for birthday parties, Scout events etc..This facility will also provide a drop off point for animals that need to be surrendered.

The Southern California Herpetology Association & Rescue
(SCHA&R) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the
acquisition and dissemination of educational information and
knowledge through literary, visual and verbal communication
regarding the conservation, collection, examination,
management, treatment and propagation of herpetelogical
species as well as providing the public with rescue and
rehabilitation services for animals in need.
