I was excited beyond belief to learn I had been accepted to the upcoming
Climate Reality Leadership Training Corps in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil!
The only hitch: I was laid off this from my nonprofit job this Summer and have been working part time while I job search. Therefore, I am seeking to raise some funding that will support this awesome opportunity.
With your help, my funding goal will cover:
-Airfare from San Francisco, CA to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
-Housing for a week in Rio
-Food, transit and incidentals in Rio
-Tech upgrades to existing gear
-Portable projector
-A few days lost income
-Probably things I haven't thought of yet!
In Brazil, former Vice President Al Gore and other subject matter experts will lead us in educational sessions in climate science, grassroots advocacy, public policy and more. In 2015, all of the participants will perform ten volunteer climate change outreach activities with our newly acquired skills. I'm looking forward to becoming empowered to support the communities that matter to me - and to make an impact!
Your support means that I will have the honor of joining the over 6000 other citizens worldwide who have joined this initiative and committed themselves to taking on the climate crisis.
