Sidney's Freedom Flights

Sidney's Freedom Flights is all about one man's mission to save dogs and/or other pets from death row.
Sidney has been able to successfully rescue dogs from kill shelters and transport them to safe havens in the northeast. Flights originate in New Jersey and will fly as far as funding is available. The average cost of a rescue trip has been approximately $800 -$1200 and has so far been funded completely out-of-pocket. We need help to continue these desperately needed rescue flights.
At this stage, we are requesting contributions of personal gifts of any amount to help defray some of the out-of-pocket costs and allow more trips to be made. All contributions will be used to send volunteer helpers/dog handlers to assist Sidney with these flights. Sidney will continue to personally fund at least his pro rata share of all flights he pilots, while contributions to our GoFundMe page will fund the necessary volunteer helpers share of the costs. These volunteers are needed to make trips possible and handle dogs while Sidney handles the flight. Therefore we never expect to collect the full cost of a flight prior to making a rescue.
Please keep in mind you are simply sending a gift to be used to help make these trips possible. Your gifts are not tax deductible as we are not a 501(3)(c) corporation, but rather just two people who want to rescue dogs and need help and helpers to do it.
The $2370 goal has been selected because it would fund about 4 trips to the south each year. Any amount raised will fund part of each trip. The more money raised, the more trips will be made and all trips will be documented on "Sidney's Freedom Flights" Facebook Group Page.
We will make every effort to maximize the amount of dogs that we can rescue per trip, but it is not uncommon for a rescue flight to take place for one dog that has a home and simply needs a ride to avoid being put down. All trips will occur based on (1) Sidney's availability, (2) when dogs are located that have safe havens but need transport, (3) when the planes Sidney is checked out to fly are available, and (4) when weather is safe in all areas of the trip. We hope to take about 4 trips each year.
In the very unlikely event that we collect more contributions for this goal than we are able to use, any unused contributions would then be donated to a rescue organization that we select that supports the same goal that we are collecting contribution for - to rescue dogs from kill shelters.
