On April 7th, 2014 my grandmother, Mary Maloney, passed away suddenly. She was my light and my world, my mentor and protector. I cannot put into words the grief and heartache that has come with losing her.
Six months before we buried my aunt, Christine Perry, from cancer. It was a brutal series of months that destroyed my family.
Now, with both of these losses on our shoulders, we face losing our home. Unbeknownst to us, my grandmother reverse mortgaged the house to the teeth and the bank is looking for payment. $400k to be exact to bury the debt. We'll go into foreclosure in October if we don't have a plan in place. Right now we're working desperately to bring in as much cash as possible to present to the bank and give us ground to negotiate a refinance. But with the balance so high, that's not going to happen. We need everything we can to bring that number down or pay it off entirely.
I've already met with the bank and options are slim. Where we stand, if we lose this house we won't have enough credit for another and it's not worth enough to sell and profit to move on.
I've uprooted my life in Oregon, abandoned my friends, my job and my offer to attend Grad School for free to come home and support my family in this endeavor. Every penny I can spare while paying my own debts down goes into this building. I packed my life, shipped the big stuff and drove 3,100 miles from Oregon to New York to do everything I could to hunt down help.
Now I'm asking you. I'm asking your friends, your associates, your enemies, your siblings, your coworkers, your complete strangers you met that one time at a convention.
Please, anything you can give makes a difference. My cousin Mike and I both work full time and my mother is disabled, we're doing eveything we can to make ends meet but the debt is just too high for us to stand a chance.
I'm not just asking for your help. I'm begging, pleading, praying, literally offering every ounce of humanity and gratitude I possess to any kind enough to help us.
