On Friday July 11th The Bella Foundation SPCA was contacted by Midwest City Animal Welfare to assist after two dogs were discovered abandoned and starving in an apartment in Midwest City, OK. Thanks to Midwest City Animal Welfare personnel, both dogs were immediately confiscated from the premise and an immediate request was made to The Bella Foundation SPCA for foster homes and funding for veterinary care.
The first dog, a 2 year old Pitt Bull, although extremely emaciated has been cleared by veterinary personnel and has entered our foster program to recover. The second dog, a 6 month old Pitt Bull puppy, is still fighting for his life at a local veterinary hospital. His condition is extremely serious and it is unclear if he will survive.
We learned this afternoon from Midwest City authorities, two charges of felony animal abuse have been filed with the Oklahoma District Attorney's office for the person responsible for this crime.
