Nepal Earthquake Relief: Sagarmatha

Donation protected
By now you know of the devastating earthquake in Nepal. The losses are unthinkable. As some of you may know, my wife and I adopted two wonderful children from Nepal over 8 years ago and we have kept in touch with many of the kind, generous people we met while there. The Sagarmatha Children's Home needs your help now.

They have always done so much with so very little for the country's most unfortunate little beings. Now as they brace for 300-400 more children we need to help as best we can. Please consider contributing whatever you can so that we can make a difference in the lives of these young Nepalis.

I have spoken to Manoj Kumar Kandel who is leading the effort for all the children's homes in Nepal. He tells me that, although standing, the Sagarmatha Children's Home is cracked and now uninhabitable. With over 50% of the houses in Kathmandu damaged beyond repair it is going to be very difficult to obtain a new home. He has asked me if we would be willing to allow him to use these funds for the purpose of buying land and building a new Sagarmatha Children's Home. Now, your contributions will directly support the long term health and safety of the many parentless children living in Nepal.

Shanti and Sandeep emptied their piggybanks upon seeing the horrific images and their compassion has inspired me to do the same. I hope you will too.
