SimmieRay L. Dinkins was born April 19, 1988 to Janet and the late Simmie Dinkins III in Chicago, Illinois. He is the youngest of 7 siblings and is the second of two boys. After the death of his father, SimmieRay’s mother and two of his six sisters relocated to Henning, Tennessee. Growing up in a single parent home with two sisters proved to be a challenge, but it did not stop his passion for God or his drive to reach back into his community.

Rev. Dinkins say, "my life challenges helped to spur my eagerness to pull others out of the pits of academic defeat and break the chains of life's challenges in the minority community by engaging them with a collevtive community effort and the power of God."

After being inspired by Luke 4:18, with his pastor’s support, Reverend Dinkins founded SimmieRay Dinkins Ministries Inc., a nonprofit organization designed to inspire the breaking of chains in communities worldwide, in 2007. SimmieRay has traveled to countries such as Canada, England, Italy, Germany and France proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ while participating in his study abroad experience. SimmieRay Dinkins Ministries have hosted conferences such as the Diversity Leadership Conference in April of 2012 where he successfully hosted internationally known civil rights activist Louis Farrakhan on the campus of his undergraduate institution, LeMoyne-Owen College, and the Break Every Chain Conference in January of 2014 in Ripley, Tennessee. As a result, he is the recipient of many honors including an Honorary Doctorate of Divinity, awarded by God’s Living Word Theological Seminary of Longview, Washington and recipient of the Youth Achievement Award, awarded by the Governor of the State of Tennessee.

After years of hard work, it is with great pleasure that I announce the partnership by approval of the President, Vice President of Academic Affairs and Chair of the Department of Fine Arts and Humanities of The LeMoyne Owen College and SimmieRay Dinkins Ministries Inc. for the biannual Break Every Chain Conference 2016: The Rise of the Talented Tenth!! This conference will be one to remember and we are asking ALL of Memphis, and the surrounding areas, to help sponsor our efforts by donating $5 to this transformative Chain Breaking event!! Your generous donations will help SimmieRay Dinkins Ministries award three essay scholarships to students of LeMoyne-Owen College as well as help us recognize Community Chain Breakers in the Memphis area of various disciplines! The conference will consist of 4 workshops, a Special Guest Keynote Address and a Special Guest Gospel Headliner for the concert! just Visit www.SDinkinsMinistries.com to learn more about our mission and objectives!

Thank you for your support! If you missed last year, you don't want to miss next years!

Reverend Dinkins’ says, he is simply a vessel willing to be used for Gods glory in all that he does.

We are in need of your support to help make our next conference; The Break Every Chain Conference 2016: The Rise of the Talented Tenth, possible. Please help us help others."

Thank You!
