Eli's Field of Dreams
Eli has a dream. It's a simple one ... a place to play the game he loves ...
You can help make this dream a reality for Eli and many other children with special needs! SAMBICA is excited to be a part of this project to create a place for athletes like Eli who live in the surrounding communities: Bellevue, Kirkland, Sammamish, Issaquah, Snoqualmie, Redmond, Eastlake, Renton, Mercer Island, Bothell, and Fall City.
Each of the area Little Leagues have a charter to begin a challenger team but these teams lack a field for play. The SAMBICA project provides a place for these boys and girls to compete, for communities to gather, and families to find a place of respite.
Summer is a vibrant time for the existing field, but during the fall, winter, and spring months it becomes unusable. The new field would provide space for our ever-expanding youth programming all year round. In addition to area children we also invite at risk youth (foster, low income, and homeless) to participate in our programs.
We hope you will consider giving toward this field campaign focused on providing special needs (challenger league) athletes the opportunity to play baseball. As Eli says, "It doesn't matter if I win ... it doesn't matter if I lose ... I just like playing!"
