Seed Money for Birthwork Business
Hokṡiyuhab Oti ("a place for giving birth") serves the Rosebud (Sicangu) Reservation. This area is rural, with many miles between each community. To reach all of these communities lots of miles are driven, some on dirt and gravel roads.
I will use as many free resources as possible to reach women in the communities I will be serving. This seed money will assist in paying for business costs (photocopies, stamps, business licensing, a projector to attach to my laptopetc.)
Statistically, Childbirth Educators assist in giving women the information and tools in order to have better birth outcomes. Childbirth Education is not just about an easier labor, it's about preparing baby for a better life while in the womb, and beyond.
Statistically, women who participate in Childbirth Education have fewer C-Sections, the duration of labor (overall) is lower, and tend to have fewer issues in pregnancy. The Birth Doula lends her presence to woman-to-woman support with similar results.
I am a Childbirth Educator and training to be a Certified Doula. The web site for my business is: http://hoksiyuhaboti.com.
