Hello and welcome to my WISH HOPE DREAM gofundme page. I’ve had a dream to take a very long train ride around the country for many many years. My retirement plans had included lots of travel to insure I got to visit all 48-lower states. Health issues keep interferring. As my cancer continues to grow, this train ride will fulfill part of that dream… at the end I will have seen 46 of those 48!
I’ve asked family, friends and networking folks to buy a book or two to help fund this trip. The response has been, “Do you have a crowdfunding page?” No… I had been trying to do it without donations. I wanted to raise the money through sales and book promotions… but, if this is how people want to support me… Here’s my gofundme page! THANKS for the support.
Know that I will be hopping an Amtrak Train in Baltimore MD… going to Texas to cross paths with and have lunch with an old childhood friend! Then, off to California for two events on a train that is no longer included in the 2018 Federal Budget… so I’ll be one of the last tourists to travel that path! YEAH ME!
Then, I’m off to see the awesome Glass Museum in Tacoma WA before traveling in BIG SKY COUNTRY of Montana and North Dakota. I’m sure there will be lots of FUNtastic things to see before going into Chicago to change trains for Kalamazoo Michigan… then home to Baltimore! YEAH...WOW.
I’m sure I will be good friends with Motel 6 by the time I get home. They are clean, comfy and CHEAP so I can get this trip done. In California, I’ll also need to rent a car. The other stops!? Cabs and Uber or BUSES! Hehehe.
The pictures and the adventure will also result in another Mitzy, the Butterfly book as well as another Francine, the Butterfly book that will help raise funds for a cancer non-profit. I’m sure there will be enough pictures and story for another Anna’s Journey book too… after all who would be a senior citizen with Metastatic Breast Cancer would accomplish this trip – another Ripley’s Believe it or not story for sure!
