Support The Red Sock Gala!

Donation protected
Hi Everyone,

My name is Ellen, I was born with a congenital heart condition, Pulmonary Atresia with VSD. Over the years I've had multiple operations to replace & repair the valve in my heart. Last September I had major open heart surgery to replace the pulmonary valve. Five days later, my surgeon discovered a blood clot around my heart so I was back under the knife for round 2. This experience has made me so grateful for the life I have and I want to give back to the incredible charities which supported me during the hard times.

That's why I’m organising the very first, Red Sock Charity Gala.

The Gala will raise funds for cardiac care in Cambridgeshire, and will be in support of three incredible charities: The British Heart Foundation, The Somerville Foundation & ACT Addenbrooke’s Cardiac Rehab Programme.

This page has been set up for people who cannot attend the ball but would still like to donate to these amazing causes.

Can I buy tickets for the gala?
Yes! Tickets are £60pp or £550 for a table. We currently have an early bird price of £55pp but numbers are limited so buy quick! Head to our website for tickets: www.theredsockgala.co.uk/tickets

- An auction with some really lovely items, descriptions of which will be released as they are received.

- 3 Course Dinner
- 1/2 Bottle of Wine
- Live Music & Dancing
- Guest Speakers
- Raffle & Games

When & Where is it?
8th September 2018 at the Hilton Cambridge City Center.

Who are the Charities?

The British Heart Foundation - The UK's #1 heart charity, they've been fighting heart disease for over 50 years. Every five minutes another UK family loses a loved one to a heart condition, but the British Heart Foundation are fighting back through their lifesaving research.

The Somerville Foundation - The Somerville Foundation works with patients born with a heart condition (congenital), providing practical and emotional support, and enabling them to take control of their lives and manage their own heart condition. Thanks to advancements in medical treatment, today more and more people born with heart conditions are living long, full and happy lives.

ACT Addenbrooke’s Cardiac Rehab Programme  - Run from Cambridgeshire's local hospital, with multiple facilities across the county, the Cardiac Rehabilitation Programme provides support for patients after surgery or other cardiac events. They help get people active and back on their feet with weekly cardiac workout sessions, education sessions on how to live healthier lives and fitness tests.

How will the money be split?
All proceeds will be split equally between the three charities.

Why is it called 'The Red Sock Gala'?
To find out the full story, you'll have to attend! What I can tell you is that red socks are the lucky charm which got me through my surgery...

Can I donate a prize or sponsor the event?

If you, or someone you know is interested in a sponsorship package for the ball or can donate a prize of the raffle or auction, please email us at [email redacted].uk

Thank you for your support.  Every donation, no matter how small, will make an incredible difference in the lives of cardiac patients and their families.
