Today is a day that is burned in our family's history and future. We lost a child who was our light and our reason for waking up every morning. Simultaneously we lost our family's future leader.
Our young son, Rashawn, a 14 year old example and friend to his peers and his 2 young brothers, was stabbed while buying candy at the corner store--brought down by a senseless act of violence. Child-on-child violence is unthinkable and today it reached a horrible peak in our community.
Rashawn was a wonderful, loving young man, an honor student, a talented football player for Sacred Heart Catholic Prep school in SF and a great big brother to his siblings!
Please think not just of our immediate family. Think of Rashawn, your children, our community and our future. Please help us through whatever means possible to stamp out atrocities like this in the future. Donate anything you can; your time and your help will serve us all.
This is a very untimely and devasting matter for the family and thank you in advance for your thoughts, prayers and kindness during this time. Love and healing to all and everyone involved.
