I am Randal Brown. I live in Anniston Al. I an trying to raise money to get a Firefly™ Power Attachment for a wheelchair. It will cost about $3000 and my insurance will not cover it.
I am handicapped. My left leg has been amputated below the knee due to diabetes and the big toe on your right foot. I have diabetic swelling in my eyes and have to have a $1200 injection in each them every month. I have degenerative spine and spinal stenosis, I have two rods and eight pins in my back. Both hips are deformed to the point that I had to have surgery on the right one. They sawed the bone in two, twisted it 90 degrees put in a rod, a plate and a bunch of screws. It is hard for me to walk longer than real short distances. I have had to have surgery on both hands for Dupuytren's contracture disease, which makes it hard to wheel myself around. I have started this page to try to get a power attachment for my wheelchair. Insurance will not cover it. If anyone could help it would greatly appreciated. The money will get me a Firefly™ Power Attachment, two batteries, a basket, a headlight and all the parts to hook it to my chair. I have missed out on a lot over the past few years dew to being too ashamed to ask for help. After seeing in the news where people have raised money to go on vacations and to get boob jobs and etc. I thought I would give it a try.
