Ralph's Heart Transplant Fund

Hi my name is Keith Slater, on August 28,2013 my father Ralph Slater who is 70 received his heart transplant. He has been out of work for almost 2 years due to the severity of his heart troubles and after being fitted with an Lvad(ventricular assist device) in Dec '12. We have been making monthly,sometimes weekly visits from Eagle Bridge Ny to Massachussettes General hospital in Boston and now that the transplant has happened the appointments will be more frequent and of longer duration of stay. On top of regular non medical expenses,co pays and travel expenses we now are going to have a large anti rejection medication bill to handle every month.
An honorably discharged Army veteran of the Korean conflict and Vietnam eras Ralph has been a father,husband,Boy Scout leader,little league coach,television repairman, carpentry contractor,restaurant owner,pizzeria owner and most of the last 20 years he has been a disaster housing inspector helping families in need secure the grants they need to rebuild after a disaster. Active in his community and church Ralph has many friends and is well respected.
I am hoping this site will allow us as a family to speed his recovery and lift the burden of the financial cloud that fills his mind so he can concentrate on himself,his heart, and his recovery.
