Racing to Encourage Keith

Hello All Again! For those that know Keith's story, you know he is out in China right now getting his treatment, treatment that was made possible by all of you and Go Fund Me!! It was a God Inspired effort and truly amzing! For those who need a refresher check out:

On May 31st, my wife Jodi and I will be running the Dam to Dam half Marathon in Des Moines. We will be dedicating this run to Keith, and his fight against ALS, his giving spirit through it all, and for the treatment he is getting. Not only are we running for Keith, Lindsay, Cole, Lake, and New baby #3, but I will be raising money for Racer's Against ALS (RAALS). There are two reasons why I am raising funds:
First Reason, Encourgment for Keith while he is going through his treatment in China. If you have read his blog posts, it has been no picnic. There is great hope and optimism, but the treatments are taxing, and the stay uncomfortable and quite the culture shock. For updates from Keith go to the following:

Think of how we can lift Keith's spirits while he is out there, by telling him we are thinking of you, praying for you, and not only that, we are raising money for you to use for RAALS when you get back!!! Makes me happy just thinking about it.
Second reason, these funds will be used for Racer's Against ALS (RAALS) the foundation that Keith founded early after his diagnois and has raised over $100,000 for other families aflicted with ALS.
In short the hope is to create/retool our web-site http://www.racersagainstals.com/ as way for people to use their passion and love for running, swimming, biking, tough mudding or any combination of the four to raise funds for RAALS regardless of location, event, or time. Hopefully while this starts small, it will allow us to grow outside of the great local support of the community to raise additional funds and to create much more awareness for Racer's Against ALS.
I have been in conversations with several in the running community on this idea, and actually will be meeting with a gentleman who has set up a similar model and they have seen tremedous success!!!
We are in the early stages in this process, but it's something I am extremely stoked about, but as with all great things it is going to take some intitial investment and time, hence this first run for Keith and RAALS!
My hope is that if you have been inspired by Keith, that this inspires you again, and inspires you to give, whether it's $5, $100, or $1,000. As we have seen before, the power isn't in the indivdual amounts, the power lies in the collective number and the collective effort.
