Wipe Every Tear in the Philippines

I want to share with you a passion that God has deeply engraved into my heart, and an opportunity that has recently presented itself to me- a chance to travel to the Philippines and help serve women and children involved in sex trafficking.
Human trafficking is a criminal business that profits from enslaving people for sexual servitude and forced labor. Quite honestly, the first time I encountered this issue was when I watched the Hollywood movie Taken, and my response of digging deeper was more from a fear of this happening to me than a passion to do something about it. I started reading articles every so often, and I read a book that gave me facts and more details about this very successful industry. My heart would break, and I would pray for the millions of men, women and children in this bondage, but I never did anything beyond that. The truth is, it is a scary and seemingly hopeless industry that has been in the dark for too many years.
God has provided an opportunity for me to join with a ministry, Wipe Every Tear, as they lead a group of passionate, young missionaries to Manila, Philippines in January 2015. Wipe Every Tear is a non-profit organization dedicated to breaking the chains of sex trafficking. This ministry is relentless in contending towards freedom over those robbed of their spiritual inheritance, while bringing hope and a future to the brokenhearted and oppressed. The mission of this ministry is to love, encourage, and rescue trafficked girls in the sex trade who are imprisoned in a life of prostitution and provide them a safe place of refuge, hope, and grace.
On this trip, I will receive the incredible opportunity to demonstrate the true love that Jesus has shown me; I get the opportunity to bring light to the darkness, provide hope to the hopeless, and freedom to the oppressed. I get a chance to show young women that their identity and worth is not in what they have done or where they are from, but in whom they belong to. God promises a perfect love, and these women are worthy of knowing that truth; they are worthy of knowing how treasured and valued they are. They deserve to know that their identity is found in Christ as a daughter of the Mighty King.
I am asking you to partner with me in my calling to the Philippines through support in any way you feel compelled. There are a couple ways in which you can support me. First and most importantly, you can commit to praying for me and the Wipe Every Tear Philippines team. We cannot do anything without the strength, guidance, and protection of God, and I hope you understand that this can and WILL be the biggest means of support for us prior, during, and after our trip.
